Boy Scouts consider ending ban on gay membership

It appears that not even the Boy Scouts are immune to the bewitching powers of political correctness.

Considering the Catholic Church sex abuse scandal that occurred a few years back, one would think that it would be common sense to not allow fags around young children. But these days, muddled thinking and feel good emotionalism triumphs over common sense in this Age of Tolerance.

The Boy Scouts are “discussing potentially removing the national membership restriction regarding sexual orientation,” according to Deron Smith, director of public relations for the Boy Scouts of America.

The Scouts’ current policy denies membership to “individuals who are open or avowed homosexuals or who engage in behavior that would become a distraction to the mission of the BSA,” the group’s website says.

There are over 2.5 million youth members and over 1 million adult members nationwide, according to the BSA website.
